Karen Berglund would love to visit your school. Karen uses her 32 years of
teaching experience to present interactive school and library visits.
Grade K-3 Visits: They Call Me Quirky fans experience a book reading, a quirky behind-the-scenes look at writing a story, including the steps involved in publishing it. Karen has students try to guess the puppy’s REAL name before the end of the story by looking at clues hidden in the illustrations. Concepts emphasized are perspective, acceptance of self, and acceptance of others.
Amos THE Famous fans experience a book reading and a built-in magic show! Karen has amazing magic tricks for K-1 and Grades 2-3. Students will learn a magic trick of their very own to take with them. Concepts emphasized are social skills, manners, and “doing the right thing”.
Writing workshops for grades 4-6 and 7-9 are available. Workshops focus on character development, inspiration, and perspective, though Karen can tailor her visit to whichever outcomes teachers wish to cover.
Grades 10-12 Writing Workshops – Learn how to write your children’s book. Learn the differences between traditional, hybrid, and self-publishing options.
